Stationery & notebooks.

Papier Tigre (5 rue des Filles du Calvaire, 3rd) for its colourful graphic notebooks, and the stationers of the covered passages (Galerie Vivienne). Perfect for pretty, light souvenirs.

Concept stores.

Merci (111 bd Beaumarchais, the red Fiat), Fleux (the Marais) and La Trésorerie (10th) for well-designed homeware and everyday objects. Le Bon Marché on the home side, for the high end (see our shopping guide).

Kitchen objects (Opinel, Duralex, the Mariage Frères teapot), small leather goods, artists’ posters and postcards — gifts that break from the classics.

JARI tip.

The Marais concentrates the essentials (concept stores + stationery) and opens on Sundays (Marais guide). Favour light, unbreakable objects for your suitcase, and remember the tax refund over €100.
