The City of Paris museums offer their permanent collections free to everyone, all year (temporary shows may be paid). No age or nationality condition:

  • Most require booking (especially Orsay and the Orangerie). It's busier — arrive early morning.

the Louvre: first Friday evening

The Louvre isn't free on the first Sunday, but on the first Friday evening, 6-9pm (except July-August), with booking. Free mini tours at 6:30, 7, 7:30 and 8pm.
