What is CAF?
CAF (Caisse d'allocations familiales) is the public agency that manages social benefits including the APL housing allowance.
APL is open to students, employees and families renting a home.
Who can apply?
Anyone legally residing in France whose name appears on the lease. Flatmates must each file their own request.

Things to watch out for
- Apply right after moving in, APL starts the month after the request.
